Gleistein Dyneema GeoLink Soft Shackles

 

GeoLink soft shackles are light and flexible, can be opened and closed quickly without the need for any additional equipment and are self-locking under load. Manufactured to the most stringent standards, these soft shackles are manufactured from 12-plait braided Dyneema® SK78 with a protective Geothane coating, one end knotted, the other end spliced.

 

  • Tested according to DIN EN10204 – Test report 2.2 available on request
  • Light - buoyant, at a fraction of the weight of comparable steel shackles.
  • Simple - extremely easy to handle without any tools.
  • Safe - reduced risk of injury from flapping sails due to self-securing under load.
  • Low Stretch – Dyneema® SK78 - each link has an elongation of just 0.6% at 10% of the breaking load

Bio-based Dyneema Fact Sheet

These versatile GeoLink soft shackles are an ideal light weight replacement for traditional heavy metal shackles or snap shackles. Thanks to their flexibility they naturally articulate better than fixed screw pin shackles and do not rattle when not under load. Simple to open and close without tools they are made from the highest quality Dyneema SK78 which is incredibly strong, lightweight, waterproof and very low stretch with outstanding abrasion resistance.

Available in diameters 4mm to 18mm with workloads from 450kg to 5,000kg.

Applications:
  • Alternative to metal snap shackles for securing halyards & sheets.
  • Attaching blocks to toerails or padeyes.
  • Jib sheet clew attachment.
  • Attaching snubber lines to anchor chain.
  • Alternative to metal jib hanks, particularly if you have a Dyneema storm jib stay.
Safety Advice:
  • This product is not approved for lifting use, especially not for persons.
  • The breaking load indicated refers to an unused, undamaged product.
  • A safety factor of at least 2x should be applied for use.
  • Inspect regularly prior to use for any damage.
